BENNY BLANCO X HEXCLAD

ART DIRECTION - MERCHANDISE - PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT

Overview:

Challenge: Benny Blanco was preparing to launch his much-anticipated cookbook, "Open Wide," we sought a distinctive element that would not only complement the book but also enhance its promotion.

Solution: Using the existing HexApron silhouette, I designed a very unique co-branded apron for Benny Blanco that aligns with his personality and aesthetic.

My Role:

I was brought onto the NNOVATE Studios team to spearhead the design and development of Benny’s custom apron. My responsibilities included concept development, design and coordination, and production oversight.

Concept development:

  • Collaborated with Benny’s team to understand his personality and the cookbook's theme.

  • Conducted market research to identify design trends.

Design and coordination:

  • Partnered with in-house designers to create initial sketches and concepts.

  • Designed final print concept and captured the whimsical and retro style, in line with Benny Blanco's aesthetic and the cookbook's branding.

PRODUCTION OVERSIGHT:

  • Worked with manufacturers to select high-quality materials and oversee the production process.

  • Managed timelines and quality control to ensure the final product met the highest standards.

RESULTS:

The custom apron became a standout element of the "Open Wide" cookbook launch. It not only resonated with Benny Blanco's audience but also generated buzz and excitement around the cookbook.

  • Enhanced brand visibility for Benny Blanco and his cookbook.

  • Increased engagement and sales for HexClad through unique, branded merchandise.

  • Positive feedback from both media and customers, highlighting the apron as a memorable and functional keepsake.

The collaboration exemplifies the power of thoughtful, strategic design in elevating a brand's presence and impact. This project underscored the importance of aligning product development with marketing objectives to achieve cohesive and compelling results.
